Hello world!
Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!
Independent, step-by-step help with SRD status checks, payment dates, appeals and banking details — always pointing you to the official SASSA portal.
SRD R370 dates are individual: your personal pay day appears on the official portal once your application is approved. Permanent grant dates above were moved earlier this month because of the local government elections.
This website never asks for your ID number. You check your status on the official SASSA portal, and this guide simply shows you the exact steps.
Go to the official SC19 status page on srd.sassa.gov.za. Bookmark it — any other site claiming to check your status is not official.
Type your 13-digit South African ID number exactly as it appears on your ID document. One wrong digit returns an invalid result.
Use the same number you applied with. A different number will not match your application.
Check the month first — every month has its own result. See the status meanings table below to understand what your result means and what to do next.
Fastest with data. Open the SC19 page and follow the steps above.
Message the government-listed SASSA WhatsApp number and follow the bot prompts.
Works on any phone without data. Dial the published USSD code from your registered SIM.
Call the toll-free helpline during office hours and have your ID number ready.
A zero-rated app: it does not use your data allowance to reach SASSA services.
Visit your nearest SASSA office with your ID document, Monday to Friday.
The SRD grant is means-tested every month. Meeting the rules once does not guarantee approval next month.
You must be between 18 and 59 years old. At 60 you move to the Older Persons Grant system.
You must not be employed or receiving another regular income, including UIF or NSFAS funding.
Monthly money coming into your bank accounts must stay below the current threshold (R624 at last published level).
SASSA re-checks your records every month against SARS, UIF, NSFAS and banking data.
Your ID details must match the Department of Home Affairs records, or verification will fail.
You cannot receive the SRD grant while receiving another social grant for yourself.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | The monthly means test is still running. | Wait 7–10 days. Do not reapply while pending. |
| Approved | Your grant is confirmed for this month. | Watch for your payment SMS and personal pay day. |
| Declined | You did not meet this month’s criteria. | Read the decline reason and appeal within 90 days if it is wrong. |
| Referred | Your file was sent for manual review. | Wait up to 30 days, then call the helpline. |
| Identity Verification Failed | Your details did not match Home Affairs records. | Use the official verification link or visit an office. |
| Bank Details Pending | No valid bank account is on file. | Update your banking details on the official portal. |
Scammers copy SASSA pages and promise faster approvals for a fee. SASSA never charges for applications, appeals or status checks.
